Three markets for your convenience: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

It’s Labor Day – the unofficial start of fall — but summer still reigns at the markets.

Wednesday is the perfect time to kick off the Labor Day holiday.  Ok it’s a little early but not too early to do your shopping.  The Wednesday market has everything you need for your Labor Day holiday.   Great cheeses, breads, eggs, produce, and meat.   If it’s convenience you are looking for – great prepared foods too.    This week, Starting from Scratch is coming with their wonderful cupcakes but at the Wednesday market they will also have mini-quiches and other breakfast items.   Wednesday market — 8:30 -noon  At Luther Burbank Center for the Arts

Thursday is the tiny but big market at the WIC offices (opposite the west end of Coddingtown Mall).  It is the best of the seasonal fruits and produce.   A great place for easy in and out and to pick up some cases of fruit and vegetables for preserving.   9-1pm

Saturday is the ginormous market.  If it grows in Sonoma County, you can get it at the Saturday market.   It’s the perfect place to kick off your weekend.  This week we join with Slow Foods Russian River to  Honor the Gravenstein Apple.   Tastings and activities for kids.  It is always lots of fun.   The market is located at the gateway to wine country.    There are some great wineries within a mile of the market.  It’s also a great time to check out the art galleries in Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.  Many local artists are featured.
