Many of our Saturday vendors are coming out this Wednesday so you can get the freshest and the best without any hassles.   Plenty of  easy parking and no check out lines.

Although no turkey, there is duck, beef and goat from Salmon Creek Ranch and The Dreamcatcher Ranch has amazing pork and beef too.     There is cranberry sauce too!

You can get wine, flowers, cheese, nuts, any kind of seasonal vegetable grown in Sonoma County.  The Patch will be there and they still have tomatoes, peppers and green beans.   Mushrooms, chestnuts, sausage, pies, bread, rolls, breakfast pastry, coffee, persimmons of all kinds, apples, hot pepper, garlic, tomatillos, honey, and great gifts too.  Beautiful napkins and table cloths from I’m Sew Sure.

Padrones from Min-Hee Hill are still available.  The world’s best and easiest appetizer.

There is some beautiful lettuce at the market.  Just what you need for the perfect salad.

Min-Hee’s Balsamic/ Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Ingredients

  • 1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar, optional*
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried Korean pepper powder
  • Mesclun salad mix or favorite greens, for accompaniment
  • Assortment of salad ingredients, such as cherry tomatoes, chopped carrots, sliced red onion, chopped celery, diced cucumbers, walnuts

Directions

Beat the vinegar in a bowl with the sugar, garlic, salt and pepper until sugar and salt dissolves. Then beat in the oil by droplets, whisking constantly. (Or place all the ingredients in a screw-top jar and shake to combine.) Taste and adjust the seasonings.

Toss a few tablespoons of the dressing with the salad mix and desired salad ingredients and serve immediately.

If not using dressing right away, cover and refrigerate, whisking or shaking again before use.

Costeaux Bakery, Kays Bo-kays, Salmon Creek Ranch, Franco’s One World Sausage, Dominque’s Sweets  will be joining our regular Wednesday line-up

There are covered tables for breakfast. It’s not going to be that cold. What could be nicer then having a great cup of coffee from Gaga Cafe . If you are in a hurry, Starting from Scratch has biscuits and gravy and Mi Fiesta Catering Co. has wonderful hot tamales with a wonderful choice of salsas — both ready to go. Looking for an amazing farm to table breakfast Starting from Scratch has omelets your choice of fillings — everything purchased at the market. The Green Grocer has everything from traditional breakfast choices to things like crispy duck tacos. Everything is sourced within 150 miles of Luther Burbank Center for the Arts

Valentine’s Day is coming soon.  No panic!  The market is filled with both traditional and non-traditional gifts for your Valentine.

Shown here is a very unusual amaryllis from Daffodils, Dahlias and Lily’s  O My!   Savita also has bright red for the more traditional.   Heart-shaped things are always at the market, shown here are heart shaped soaps from The Garden Wild, and lovely heart-shaped earrings from Willow Design.  These vendors are at both the Saturday and Wednesday market.    For procrastinators, Valentine’s Day is on a Thursday and all three of these vendors are at the Wednesday market too.
