Saturday September 21 is the market’s free heirloom tomato tasting.  This year we’ve added a salsa contest and you’ll be the judge.   Or perhaps the winner.  Email for details.  Or if you would like to volunteer.  We could use some help cutting up the tomatoes for the tasting.

One of the best things about our tomato tasting is all the tomatoes are available at the market.   This is the peak of the tomato season in Sonoma County.   This is the best time of year to pick up a case of tomatoes.    Find your favorite variety and then as the farmer about cases prices.    You don’t have to can either.  Just pop them in the freezer.

It’s always a great day at the market.  Great things to taste and fun activities for children.

Here are a few photos from Tomato Tastings in the past:

June 30th -Celebrate our new home with us

We moved and we are so happy in our new, beautiful location at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.   Now we are ready to party.

Saturday June 30th is the date – regular market hours 8:30 am – 1 pm but chocked full of fun activities especially for children.   Magicians, balloon artists, and the Boys and Girls Club will have a booth too.

We want a chance to thank all our wonderful customers who moved with us.   There will be special gifts and a free raffle.   We really do think our customers are the best.

Chefs demonstrations (that means things to taste.)

Broadcasting live KSRO’s Steve Garner brings  Garden Talk, co- hosted with Dave Fazzio; and The Good Food Hour, co-hosted by John Ash, restauranteur, chef, and winner of an IACP award for best cookbook of the year. The programs are fast-paced mixes of tips, techniques, interviews, reviews, and plenty of listener calls.

Bill Mann, television and radio critic for the Oakland Tribune and The Press Democrat (Santa Rosa) wrote, “I doubt there is a more pleasing radio food talk host than KSRO’s Steve Garner. Clearly, Garner has one of the best radio voices around. I’ve heard all the “kitchen shows” from San Francisco -KCBS, KNBR, and KGO- and Garner’s is easily the best.

Stay tuned for details but save the date!
