Food Preservation Class – September 8
Fill your pantry and freezer with delicious jams & jellies, canned and dried fruit and pickles. Learn how at this popular free class taught by Wendy Krupnick.
All canning supplies will be 20% off for participants after the class.
Wendy Krupnick is an instructor in the Sustainable Agriculture program at SJRC. She has been farming and gardening for over 30 years and loves to cook, eat and share what she grows. Although she delights in what is fresh in season from the garden, abundant summer and fall harvests can be canned, dried and frozen to add flavor and variety to your dining and to give as gifts throughout the year.
Wendy will share the basic steps for these preservation methods, pointers on the best techniques for each type of produce and systems to make food processing safe and efficient.
The September will focus on tomatoes, apples, pears and peppers.
