Help us feed the 100,000 people coming to the Redwood Empire Food Bank for assistance. We’ll be at the Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market collecting food and funds for our neighbors facing food insecurity.
Bring food donations to the Farmers Market located at The Luther Burbank Center (50 Mark West Springs Rd, Santa Rosa). You’ll see a big Redwood Empire Food Bank van where you can drop donations.

Lemon Pepper Salmon

Lemon-Pepper Salmon 

Recipe from:  Allrecipes Magazine

Simple, tasty and fast! Salmon is sautéed with all ingredients at once, and served over couscous.         Great with a Spinach salad

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 (4 ounce) salmon steaks
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup uncooked couscous

Directions:

  1.  Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Place salmon in the skillet, and season with garlic, lemon pepper and salt.  Pour 1/4 cup water around salmon, place tomatoes and cilantro in the skillet. Cover, and cook 15 minutes, or until fish is easily flaked with a fork.
  2. Bring 2 cups water to boil in a pot. Remove from heat and mix in the couscous.  Cover and let sit 5 minutes.  Serve the cooked salmon over couscous and drizzle with sauce from skillet.

    Saturday Market continues year round, 8:30-1pm, there is NOT a Wednesday Market in February but will be back March 3rd.  8:30-1pm, both markets rain or shine.

Super Bowl Snack

Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower Bites                       

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of Cauliflower or Romanesco washed and broken up into small florets
  • 1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp. of your favorite hot wing sauce

Instructions:

  1. Pre heat oven to 425
  2. Toss cauliflower with olive oil and distribute evenly
  3. Combine garlic powder, paprika, chili powder and salt in small bowl.  Toss spice mixture over cauliflower and mix well, making sure all the cauliflower is coated in the spices.
  4. Spread cauliflower out on a rimmed baking sheet, roast for 20 minutes.
  5. Toss with wing sauce and serve with your favorite blue cheese dressing for dipping.  Enjoy
  6. Makes about 2 cups
