Corn, tomatoes, melons of all shapes and sizes; it’s summer. The fruit factory has table grapes. As more heirloom variety seeds have come on the market, our farmers are bringing more heirloom vegetables to market. Lots of different kinds of spinach and cucumbers – ask the farmer which one is best for your recipe.
Dry Creek Peach is back just in time for arctic gems to be in season. Michele Anna Jordan says ;” it is the single most delicious peach I have ever tasted.” Perfect for Bellinis

Today The Council on Aging will hand our WIC Senior Coupon Books. If you know a low income senior that could use some extra help with groceries, please tell them about today’s distribution of coupon books.
The market is located at 1450 Guerneville Road the parking lot of the WIC officces (opposite the west end of Coddingtown Mall)
The market only sells fruits and vegetables. While designed with WIC clients in mind, the market is open to the public.

Ridgeview Farm is a Wednesday only vendor. Heirloom vegetables and fruit and beautiful seasonal bouquets right now sunflower mixed bouquets and market bunches of zinnias

Tastings, salsa contest and fun stuff for kids – Saturday September 20th is the market’s Heirloom tomato festival.
It used to be there were a limited number of heirloom varieties being grown, now the selection is huge and getting bigger every year.

Do you really need a recipe? Eggs can be fried, scrambled, poached. Sausage can be crumbled or made into paddies. The tiny new potatoes cook in a covered skillet in about 20 minutes. And if you need a recipe for toast, then we have a problem !!!!!!

For the last couple of years, The Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market manages The WIC (Women, Infants, & Children’s) Thursday morning market through Sept. 11th from 9am-1pm. Our farmer’s are joined by Northern California Center for Well-Being, Redwood Community Health, Redwood Empire Food Bank, St Joseph’s, Council on Aging, and Free Bookmobile. It’s only fruits and vegetables. If you are looking for purslane or verdolagas you won’t find it anywhere but the Thursday market
WIC Farmers Market, July 10 through Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the WIC office at 1450 Guerneville Road, Santa Rosa.
Wednesday market is a smaller version of the Saturday market Great selection of produce, meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, even wine (no tasting yet) Some of our best craftspeople also attend this market. There are some Wednesday only vendors who are worth the trip, Ridgeview Farms beautiful seasonal bouquets and Wine Country Chocolates truffles an so much more including chocolate dipped fresh and dried fruit. 8:30 -Noon Luther Burbank Center for the Arts
