The Thursday Summer Market is Back

The Thursday summer market is open for business.
For the last couple of years, The Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market manages The WIC (Women, Infants, & Children’s) Thursday morning market through from 9am-1pm. Our farmers are joined by Northern California Center for Well-Being, Redwood Community Health, Redwood Empire Food Bank, St Joseph’s, Council on Aging, and Free Bookmobile. It’s only fruits and vegetables. If you are looking for purslane or verdolagas you won’t find it anywhere but the Thursday market
WIC Farmers Market, 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of the WIC office at 1450 Guerneville Road, Santa Rosa.

WIC Office Parking lot 9-12. Just fruits and vegetables
but this tiny market is filled to the brim with the best that summer has to offer.

Wednesday July 12th Vendor List

Vendor List July 12th
It’s a perfect day to come to the market -lots cooler. But don’t forget to stay hydrated, there is always water at the information booth courtesy of the market. Bring your own container to Future Eats and take home some fresh pressed juice (great for making ice pops too)
Also on hand folks from Re-Store a great re-cycle and re-use spot that supports Habitat for Humanity.

Saturday July 8th Vendor List
It’s grillin’ time and about the best (easy) thing you can do on a grill is the bacon-cheese burger. No, not the burger with the bacon and cheese on top — the one with the bacon mixed in with the beef and the cheese is stuffed inside. A Jucy Lucy on steroids.
Start at Heather’s custom meat – she has bacon and ground beef. About a 3:1 ratio. Chop the bacon as fine as you can – a food processor works if you don’t have a grinder. And you can do it by hand. Mix it in. This burger also works with sausage instead of bacon.
For each burger make two patties and stuff them with your favorite cheese. Seal them up – you don’t want cheese leaking. Cook about 5 minutes a side. There are some great buns at the market, lettuce, tomatoes and a condiment for every taste. Personally, some jalapeno relish would be great.
