Many of our Saturday vendors are coming out this Wednesday so you can get the freshest and the best without any hassles.   Plenty of  easy parking and no check out lines.

Although no turkey, there is duck, beef and goat from Salmon Creek Ranch and The Dreamcatcher Ranch has amazing pork and beef too.     There is cranberry sauce too!

You can get wine, flowers, cheese, nuts, any kind of seasonal vegetable grown in Sonoma County.  The Patch will be there and they still have tomatoes, peppers and green beans.   Mushrooms, chestnuts, sausage, pies, bread, rolls, breakfast pastry, coffee, persimmons of all kinds, apples, hot pepper, garlic, tomatillos, honey, and great gifts too.  Beautiful napkins and table cloths from I’m Sew Sure.

Padrones from Min-Hee Hill are still available.  The world’s best and easiest appetizer.

There is some beautiful lettuce at the market.  Just what you need for the perfect salad.

Min-Hee’s Balsamic/ Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Ingredients

  • 1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar, optional*
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried Korean pepper powder
  • Mesclun salad mix or favorite greens, for accompaniment
  • Assortment of salad ingredients, such as cherry tomatoes, chopped carrots, sliced red onion, chopped celery, diced cucumbers, walnuts

Directions

Beat the vinegar in a bowl with the sugar, garlic, salt and pepper until sugar and salt dissolves. Then beat in the oil by droplets, whisking constantly. (Or place all the ingredients in a screw-top jar and shake to combine.) Taste and adjust the seasonings.

Toss a few tablespoons of the dressing with the salad mix and desired salad ingredients and serve immediately.

If not using dressing right away, cover and refrigerate, whisking or shaking again before use.

Costeaux Bakery, Kays Bo-kays, Salmon Creek Ranch, Franco’s One World Sausage, Dominque’s Sweets  will be joining our regular Wednesday line-up

There are covered tables for breakfast. It’s not going to be that cold. What could be nicer then having a great cup of coffee from Gaga Cafe . Looking for an amazing farm to table breakfast Starting from Scratch has omelets your choice of fillings — everything purchased at the market. The Wednesday market is year round, rain or shine.

Some of crafts or soft good vendors whose inventory doesn’t do well in the rain may not be there but rain is good for farmers and ranchers.

There are covered tables for breakfast. It’s not going to be that cold. What could be nicer then having a great cup of coffee from Gaga Cafe and enjoying the first rain of the season. Saturday’s vendor list

It’s time for special orders for the holidays. Owen Family Farm has smoked hams in addition to their usual menu. If you want to guarantee a certain cut of meat it is a good idea to order ahead.
Thanksgiving is Thursday November 28th. If you want a pie from Dominique’s Sweets or some other fabulous dessert order now and you can pick it up at the Wednesday November 27th market.
Franco’s wants to know your sausage needs as well.

DeSantis Bella Fruita is back Just in time for citrus season. There were at least ten kinds of citrus including Buddha’s hand and Calamondin: cousin of the kumquat — they have kumquats too, grapes, raisins, nuts and pomegranates. Check to see if the white pomegranates are in — all the great flavor no big red mess.

K and K are back. Just walnuts but people have been anxiously awaiting their arrival

It’s wrap up time for more seasonal vendors – Nov. 23rd is the end of the Season for X-oticals (they will return beginning of February).
Bella Ridge Orchard Organic Apples, Pears and apple-pears will be at the market one or two more weeks.

The Patch has a lot of tomatoes. The warmer, drier weather means tomatoes through Thanksgiving. Big beautiful tomatoes, eggplant, green beans – it still looks like summer at the Patch.

Vendor List for Saturday November 9th
The largest and best group of Sonoma farmers and ranchers
Right now, there are still tomatoes, cucumbers, berries but fall is taking over.

Cool weather marks the return of luscious lettuces , many members of the cole family, winter squash and hardy greens.

It’s getting to be soup weather. Canvas Ranch has heirloom beans and grains. Farro, one of the oldest wheats known to mankind, is a nutty, chewy grain that is so popular in Italy and France. Easy to cook, versatile, delicious! We also grow over 20 beautiful, delicious heirloom soup beans. A basket of heirloom beans is a wonderful gift.

Who wouldn’t like a beautiful box of assorted apples from Sonoma County. Everyone knows about Gravensteins — over 100 varieties of apples are still grown in Sonoma County. Walker Ranch grows over thirty-two. Armstrong Valley, Hector’s Honey, Min-Hee Hill and several others also have apples.

Another easy quick and a one-size fits all gift is Bruno’s red wine vinegar…they even come wrapped

Nut n Other and EGB have unpasteurized almonds and walnuts — just in time for holiday baking.
